MECDA’s braVo!
Bra Decorating Contest and Charity Fundraiser
Do you have the knack for sewing, decorating, costume making? Or are you just extremely creative and crafty? Either way, we want your creation!
MECDA’s BraVo is a bra-decorating contest for all of the brilliant dancers, costumers, and people in our community that love to create! Decorate a bra, register, and show up at MECDA’s 34rd Annual Cairo Caravan to find out if you won! All proceeds from registration will go to The National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
Think Pink! Think black and white, think purple and orange… just think and create! The National Breast Cancer Foundation's mission is to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need. NBCF accomplishes this mission through various initiatives. NBCF programs provide women help for today and hope for tomorrow.
Whether your bra is an over the shoulder boulder holder, a demi-petit, or a training bra, we all value our female figures. Help other women value their figures again and have fun doing it! Imagine the possibilities! Dye it, cover it in flowers, ribbons, sequins, or whatever item you can glue on. Winners will be determined the number of “dollar votes” received. Voting will start on Friday, June 4th at 5pm and close on Sunday, June 6th at 2pm. A winner in each category will be chosen as well as a “Best of Show”. Winners will be announced on the World of Wonders stage (Thebes level) at 3:15pm. All registration fees, voting dollars, and donations will go to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
Contestants may create as many bras as they would like, although there is an entry fee per creation. Contestants should register on MECDA’s website by May 31, 2010. All bras must be turned on Friday, June 4th by 12pm (no sooner than 9am). If you cannot make it to the Queen Mary on Friday, June 4th by 12pm, please send it with a friend, or mail it to MECDA – Attention BraVo, PO Box 8246, Lancaster, CA 93539-8246. Mailed bras must be post marked by on or before May 31st, 2010.
